The ford foundation international fellowships program has since 2001 been offering opportunities for those who have lacked access to quality higher education to be able to bridge the gap and go on to pursue their studies at universities around the world on fully funded fellowships. The rationale of the IFP fellowships program assumes that talented and committed individuals from communities most affected by poverty, marginalization or other forms of inequality can add significantly to the understanding if those problems, and with high quality education, bring special energy and ability to their solution.
This film highlights the unique narratives of four IFP Fellows, now alumni, the challenges they faced on their way to becoming social justice leaders. It captures facets of the lives and journeys of the four protagonists who were able to use the IFP opportunity to emerge as stronger individuals. The film aims to inform influence and inspire individuals who wish to know more about this unique and path breaking higher education program, by sharing the impact it has had on some of the recipients of this fellowship in India.
